Robert, to replace text color of the username and password, look for:
textarea, input, select {
background: #f4f4f4;
border: 1px solid #b2b2b2;
color: #000;
font: 13px Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
margin: 1px;
padding: 3px;
}
change “000″ at “color: #000″ to whatever html color you wish. If you’ve upgraded your WP blog to 2.5, look for:
#wphead h1, #dashmenu a.current:hover, #login form input {
color: #555; }
in the file located at p-admin/css/colors-fresh.css
Also, you can install a plugin to customize your login screen: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search.php?q=custom+login
